Men's Team Pledge Ritual — Symbolic Initiation    

The Symbolic Initiation

The new man speaks, not just with his voice, but with his whole being:

I commit to this team.
I commit to telling the truth.
I commit to taking off the mask.
I commit to owning my experience, no matter how painful.
I commit to leaning in, not checking out.
I commit to giving my best for the sake of the men beside me.
I will not hide.
I will not shrink.
I will not run.
I will face my pain.
I will meet my fear.
I will release the untrue stories within.
I will become the man I was born to be.
And —
  I will hold space for other men to do the same. This is my word;
   This is my place, and
      This is my team.

These words, to be spoken by a man who is joining an MDI team, are not merely an onboarding ritual. They are a description of what MDI and its AMP program are building: a community of men who hold each other to their greatest potential. AMP exists to make mentorship within MDI worthy of the commitment every man has already made.
