Critical Orbit

Robert P. Munafo, 1997 Nov 20.

The orbit of Z0 = 0+0i for a given value of C. It is called the "critical orbit" in discussions of Julia sets, where iteration is done on different Z0 values with the same C value. The origin 0+0i and its orbit are called "critical" because the behavior of this orbit is directly related to what type of Julia set you're looking at.
