Optimizations are one type of Speed Improvements.
There are two classes of optimizations, both described more fully under their own headings:
Orbit-Based Optimization exploit properties of the Orbital Dynamics.
Adjacency Optimization exploit the occurrance of continuous solid regions in the image (such as the interiors of mu-atoms).
