Munafo Core Values: MCV04 Study and Grow From Your History
MCV04:
Study and Grow From Your History
Important components of this core value:
- Learn from past mistakes
- Gain a clear understanding of what constitutes your strengths, interests and passions; and use this knowledge to maximum advantage.
- Help your teams, organizations, etc. learn from their past experience and recognize their strengths and passions.
- Be aware of, and be prepared for, repetitions in the natural cycles of social history.
- Understand the fundamental truths of human nature, and of your gender in particular, that come out of the distant past and will not change.
Some "natural cycles of social history" are not very well known. In particular see the books by William Strauss and Neil Howe, such as "The Fourth Turning". It is important to look at the commonalities, while not ignoring the differences, between each of the past repetitions of the cycle (great depression; civil war; revolutionary war; etc.) to see what principles are at work.

The team conducts itself in ways that are faithful to the ancient unspoken ways of Men. (+mcv4e)
When this core value is lacking:
The team does not know its history. (-mcv4a)
The team does not know the history of its members. (-mcv4b)
